community boating sailing photoThe mission of Community Boating, Inc. is to enable “Sailing for All”. We offer sailing and other water sports to people of all ages, abilities, and means in the greater Boston area.

We offer additional opportunities for paddling, windsurfing, and even leadership development. Our sliding cost scale makes this affordable for all. Youth can learn to captain a sailboat in our two-week beginner class, while taking advantage of additional programming throughout the day.

They love our open paddling and sailing program where they can explore our monitored area of the Charles river outside of class while improving sailing skills, and gaining independence.

Our instructor-in-training program, racing team and STEM classes promote teamwork, leadership, volunteerism, sportsmanship and responsibility.

Boastinga fleet of many boats, membership entitles one to unlimited use of the boats, free instruction at all levels from beginner to advanced, with guest privileges once a member has passed a skills test.

Visitors can also rent sea kayaks, stand-up paddleboards, and windsurfers for a daily fee.

Best of all, Community Boating is committed to making sailing a fun, safe summer activity for any child 10 - 17 who has both parental permission and proof of the ability to swim 75 yards.

Your child can enjoy an active, fun-filled summer with the Junior Program. Kids from all walks of life come to experience the joys of sailing while making lifelong friends.

The junior membership runs from the end of June through the end of August and costs are a low as just $1.00!

Community Boating is located on the Esplanade off Storrow Drive between the Hatch Shell and Longfellow Bridge. Lessons for youth and adults, beginner and advanced sailors in a variety of boats.
