Starting June 27, Inga Magid’s Lexington Keys for Kids studio will host a new theater arts program created and staffed by professionals from the worlds of music, dance, art, and drama.
The program will include six one-week sessions, featuring a new theme each week. Children will explore each theme through songs, dances, stories and art from many cultures. During each week, children will “go backstage” to learn some basic acting and musical skills, create costumes, and design and build props and sets. Each week will end with a short performance for family and friends.
Sessions include: Rhythm Express, a romp through rhythms and rhythm instruments from around the world (June 27 – July 1); Join the Circus, a chance to star under the Big Top (July 5 – July 8); Let’s Rock and Roll, a wild ride through golden oldies (July 11 – July 15); Upside-Down Fairy Tales, a merry, mixed-up medley of favorites (July 18 – July 22); Around the World in Five Days, a musical journey through many countries and cultures (July 25 – July 29); and Let the Sun Shine, a fantastic indoor beach party (August 1 – August 5).
Students may enroll for any number of one-week sessions. Early registration is advised.
