The Playstead is a large, active use sports area:

Playing fields
There is an open field with two baseball diamonds. The field is used for baseball, softball, rugby, soccer, football, and cricket. Every fall large cross-country track meets begin on the Playstead.

The playing fields are located next to the rear entrance to the Franklin Park Zoo. Near the corner of Seaver Street and Elm Hill Ave. Enter the park by the main road from Blue Hill Avenue or the Arborway and turn on Pierpont Road across from the golf course.

George Robert White Schoolboy Stadium
The 10,000 seat Stadium is still used by schools today for sporting events. There is a parking lot near the Stadium, as well.

Basketball and tennis courts
The Playstead houses two basketbal courst and two of the park's tennis courts (the other pair is next to the Resting Place / Shattuck Picnic Area).

Adjacent to the Playstead you'll find the Overlook Shelter that was built as a field house for boys playing sports on the Playstead and spectators.

There is ample parking in the lot adjacent to the Playstead.
