A big and airy public library in downtown Haverhill. Visit the large children's section, separate young adult department, art galleries and a permanent collection of fine art, storyhours, and 30 internet terminals. Passes are available to many area museums.

A favorite activity among kids is tossing coins into the working fountain on the first floor. The children's department, a separate room on the second floor, hosts drop-in storytimes for children ages 10 months - 5 years.

Lapsit (10-24 months): Thursdays at 10:30 am
Toddler family storytime (2-5 years): Tuesdays at 10:30 am
Preschool film series (all ages): Fridays at 10:30 am

Anyone, regardless of hometown, may borrow a museum pass. Passes are available for the following museums:

Directions
From Route 495-N : Take Exit 48 (Route 125, 'Ward Hill' exit). Go through two sets of lights to the end, where the 'connector' actually joins Route 125. Take a left turn through(at) the third set of lights - 125 (S. Main Street) - heading north. Go 2.5 miles on Rt. 125 until you cross the Merrimack River on the Haverhill Bridge. You can see the Library clock tower from the bridge. At the second set of lights past the bridge, take a right onto Ginty Blvd., then take the first left (Stage Street) and enter the library's parking lot on your left.

From Route 495-S : Take Exit 52 (Route 110 exit). Take a right at the bottom of the exit ramp, onto Route 110 west. Proceed nearly two miles until you come to the intersection with Route 125 in Monument Square (near white marble Civil War statue. Turn left and follow Rt. 125 (no longer 110) through a set of lights and down the hill to the next set of lights. The library is at this intersection, on your left (corner of Main, Winter and Summer Streets). Take a left turn (onto Summer Street) and proceed between the City Hall on the left and the Library on the right. Take the first right (Stage Street) and enter the parking lot on the right.
