4-starVery Impressive
We took the kids to visit the Sackler Museum this past Saturday (free admission for MA residents from 10-12pm). I was really impressed with the collection. There are 4 floors that include everything from statues and relics to paintings by the likes of Renoir, Picasso, Cezanne, Klimt, Van Gogh, Pollack & O'Keefe to name a few. Spent about 2 hours perusing and the kids were pretty engaged. (Fourth floor has a few portraits in the first room that show a boob or two - my seven year old son got a kick out of those). I did think that the docents were a little overbearing (sort of watched visitors a little too closely; and told us on several occasions that we were 'too close to the art'. I tend to think it was because we had kids with us. Overall - I'd recommend this gallery for families with school-aged kids (perhaps 8+) who have an interest in art. It really has a wide variety of amazing pieces in the collection.
