The Cambridge Family YMCA is in close proximity to the Charles River, which serves as a loop for runners who set out from the Y for a jog. On either side of us in this city is Harvard University and Massachusetts Institute of Technology. The building also has a residence section called Central House which provides housing to 128 men. They have a full child care center encompassing preschool, after school and summer vacation programs. The fitness facility is open seven days per week, year round.
The list of activities provided at the YMCA is enormous, so you're certain find something for everyone to enjoy. Some sample activities include swim lessons, arts/crafts, hands-on science, literacy, gym, pool (indoors and out), beach trips, field trips to boston and cambridge museums and parks.
Location:
The Cambridge YMCA is handy for public transportation commuters or those who drive. They are on the Red Line for train service, and buses frequently pass by our 820 Massachusetts Avenue site. Driving we can be reached via the Mass. Pike, Storrow Drive and Memorial Drive (monthly and yearly parking permits can be purchased).
