The Peabody Essex Museum, a museum of international art and cultural history that the whole family can enjoy,offers week-long summer programs for young artists.
Choose from Arts Adventures Club (ages 8 to 11) and Art Majors (ages 12 to 15)
Art Adventurers | 8-11 years old
9am - 3pm
Are you a budding comic artist? Is performance art your thing? Do you just love making art? Then Art Adventurers is for you! Learn about the delicate art of Fabergè egg design and create your own intricate patterns.
Create your own soundsuit and participate in a performance based on the work of Nick Cave (soundsuitshop.com). We’ll visit PEM’s galleries to see In Conversation: Modern African American Art and the luxurious Fabergé exhibition. Guest artists include returning illustrator Sarah Winifred Searle (swinsea.com).

Art Majors | 12-15 years old
9am - 3pm
Back by popular demand, Art Majors is expanding to two sessions! The program again offers an in-depth art studio experience for the dedicated artist. Students will build an art portfolio and practice creative writing throughout sessions. Session I focuses on figure drawing, architecture and Adobe Photoshop.
Session II includes printmaking, clay work and graphic novel illustration. Sign up for both weeks! We’ll visit PEM’s galleries to see In Conversation: Modern African American Art, Golden Light and the luxurious Fabergè exhibition.
Guest artists include returners Nathaniel Furlong (studiofiftysix.com) and illustrator Sarah Winifred Searle (swinsea.com).
