The Arsenal Center for the Arts houses galleries, classrooms, and two resident theatre companies. Originally part of the Watertown Army Arsenal, the Center's history is one of opportunity, history, perseverance, and transformation.

With support from dedicated citizens with diverse interested and voices came together in 1998 and undertook the myriad tasks to develop the concept for the arts center, build an organization, raise funds, create a design, and grow support, all at the same time. The group attracted friends all along the way, and gained the support of individuals, businesses, and foundations.

The result is a facility inviting regional participation, a space housing dynamic venues that support a lively beehive of activity uniquely designed for interdisciplinary cooperation and collaboration, where the visual, literary, and performing arts interact, enhance each other, and offer education opportunities for people of every age and skill level.
