jewish cultural sunday school at boston workmens circle photoOur Jewish Cultural Sunday School engages children grades K-7 in an exploration of Jewish identity rooted in cultural literacy and traditions of social justice.

Through an educational experience based on both classroom learning and community building, the Sunday School curriculum emphasizes Jewish history, culture and progressive ideals that shape our identity and values as a people.

We are proud to be a school community where families from a wide variety of religious and ethnic backgrounds, both Jewish and interfaith, feel welcome and participate in all levels of the organization. We are also proud to be an open and affirming community for LGBTQ families.

Shule meets on Sunday mornings approximately twice a month. The Education Director, along with a professional staff of seven classroom teachers and a music teacher, create a classroom environment that focuses on active, project-based learning.

We also host Circle Playtime, a free monthly playgroup for parents and children ages 0-5. Each get-together starts with informal and fun children’s activities related to a Jewish or social justice holiday including music, crafts, and story time. Organized activities are followed by lots of time for play, either outside at a park or in a host’s home.

Are you wondering if our program is right for your family and your schedule? We would be happy to answer all of your questions! Contact us at [email protected] or 617-566-6281.
