Springstep's mission is to preserve, create and celebrate traditional and contemporary arts, music and dance in an inclusive and multicultural environment.

By sharing the artistic expressions of our diverse cultures, and encouraging innovation and collaboration among traditional artists from a variety of ethnic backgrounds, we learn to explore and define our own cultural identity while gaining an appreciation and respect for the cultural heritage of others.

Founded in 2000 by Deborah Hawkins, Springstep is the culmination of a long hoped for and shared vision of a dedicated space for the celebration of world traditions; a space where people can gather to create and exchange artistic energy and celebrate their cultural heritage and traditional art forms.
