Jose Mateo's Ballet Theatre is a nonprofit professional performance company and school.

The school, which provides expert dance training to young dancers ages 3-18 and adults of all ages and levels, has been a leader in creating broader access to the art form. It has developed an inclusive approach with new teaching methods that allow students to excel beyond expectation.

The Young Dancers Program is a structured program, with courses from the beginning to the pre-professional levels for students ages three through 18. Classes are held during the regular school year; following the Boston Public School calendar. Tuition rates depend on level and number of instruction hours.

The Summer Dance Program includes the Intensive Division for students ages ten to 18. In addition to classes, all students participate in daily rehearsal periods in preparation for a final performance held at the end of the program. Students must audition for placement in the Intermediate or Advanced levels. Tuition is $1,555, plus a $20 registration fee.

YouthWork is a performing group of students, selected by audition, that presents public performances. The goal of YouthWorks is to bring ballet to diverse, under-served audiences and provide pre-professional students with extensive performance experience.

Critically acclaimed, José Mateo Ballet Theatre is distinguished as the only ballet company in New England to produce an entire repertory by it's own resident choreographer.
