On Saturday and Sunday, visit the show's 'Meet the Breed' sessions where you can break dog show rules and pet and play with a pedigreed pooch and ask questions about specific breeds! Breeders and junior handlers will be available to talk about their breed's special qualities, and you can find out if that particular dog is the right pet for you and your lifestyle. We won’t know exactly which purebred pooches you will find at 'Meet the Breed' due to competition schedules, but we can tell you that there will be dozens of the nation's best breeders ready to chat with you.
On Saturday and Sunday, visit the Club Booth with any questions you have about how a dog show is run – in the conformation ring, or behind the scenes — club members are happy to share their knowledge with you. Ask a Club member for a tour of the dog show behind the scenes, a great chance to ask questions about dog shows, breeding, and AKC registration.
'Backstage' grooming areas
Looking to fall in love? Visit your favorite breeds in the 'backstage' grooming areas, where dogs are prepped and primped for their turn in the ring. Look at dogs of all shapes and sizes, talk with the groomers, handlers and owners as ring schedules allow, and learn more about the breeds -- maybe you'll meet the breeder that will find you the perfect addition to your family.
