Lack Of Response From Sheraton/ Chemical Overuse Neglectful.., Sun 16 Mar 2008
I am appalled that the Sheraton organization made absolutely no effort to contact people - mostly children -who were exposed to high levels of chlorine at COCO Keyes Danvers MA. We attended a friends birthday party fri. eve. mid Feb. Afterwards my daughter had a bad rash on her legs, she spent the entire evening/night coughing. I thought that she was coming down with a bad flu or something only to then discover the shocking neglectful overuse of chlorine at the childrens indoor water park and which she had been exposed to for hours that evening. People are not admitted to this water park, unless they are staying at the hotel or are part of a birthday party, event etc. so efforts by Sheraton if such an effort had been considered or undertaken, would have been quite a simple exercise to undertake, if childrens welfare and parents peace of mind had been considered throughout this whiole debaucle. Of course it was not considered or acted upon, to call parties affected by the overuse of chemicals, because we did not receive a call nor did anyone in our party - total of 25 or more children - equals 50 parents. I am very upset at your handling of this situation and lack of same in regard to this. I would hope that in the future your course of action would be different, children receiving burns because of overuse of chemicals by adults is appalling and negligent, but must be addressed immediately, to ignore the problem is to ignore the fact that children might be suffering from the affects of these chemicals, quite shameful by any standards. My daughter and her friends of course enjoyed the water park as they had in the past, however they coughed and choked in the hot tub, something I was unaware of until after the fact. Of course in light of the latest handling of the overuse of chemicals and exposure of such neglect and your lack of attention to the matter, we will not be having any more parties at COCO Keyes, I can assure you. Some questions: When was this issue brought to your attention, the overuse of chemicals, what action was taken and when, how much time elapsed before action was taken, and why did you not call those of us who had visited, immediately upon discovering that important information? Your handling of the situation has marred our opinion of your water park. An explanation would be appreciated. We had enjoyed COCO Keyes in the past, however if the people in charge are inept or incapable of doing their job correctly how can we return? Of course to submit this I must give a rating...while I do not wish to give one under the current situation.. in the past I would have given it a 3.1/2- 4 now I must give it a 1 because of the potential for injury to my child at your neglectful staffs hands.
