On Monday, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day ArtBeat celebrates the life and legacy of the man whose great dream for America meant a vibrant, multiracial nation united in justice, peace and reconciliation.
In this Children of the World Doll Workshop, children choose from stuffed dolls with different skintones, and fabric that reflects different indigenous cultures such as African mud cloth, Indonesian batiks, South American woven patterns and Asian prints.
ArtBeat provides patterns that will make dashikis, ponchos, sarongs and pareos, kimonos, and even traditional 'American' jackets and skirts.
