Glass pumpkin workshops quickly introduce the idea of teamwork in the hot shop.

You will work as a group to create hollow glass pumpkins with decorative stems.

The glass pumpkin will give the first time blower a strong introduction to creating sculptural glass pieces in the hot glass studio.

No experience necessary.

From the T:
Take the Orange line to the Roxbury Crossing stop and take a left out of the station. Turn left onto Terrace St, Diablo is about four blocks down on the right.

or

Take the E train on the Green line to the Brigham Circle stop, this is Huntington Ave. Take a left onto Tremont St. Take a right onto Terrace St. Diablo is about four blocks down on the right.

By Car:
From North

Take I93 South towards Boston
Take exit 18 towards Mass Ave/Roxbury
Turn slightly right to continue on to the Mass Ave connector, continue onto Melnea Cass Boulevard for about 1.3 miles
Turn left onto Tremont St, continue for about 1/2 mile, then just before the Roxbury Crossing station turn right to stay on Tremont Street.
At the first set of lights immediately after the station take a left onto Terrace Street, continue for about 0.3 miles Diablo is a red building about 4 blocks down on the right after the stop sign.


OR

Take I93 South towards Boston
Use the right two lanes to take exit 26 towards Massachusetts 3 N toward Massachusetts 28 S/Storrow Drive
The two lanes merge down to one and then open up to two again, at theis point keep left and follow signs for MA 28/ Storrow Drive
Merge onto Storrow Drive and keep right to stay on Storrow Drive for about 1 1/4 miles
Use the far left lane to exit left towards Fenway
Continue straight and You will see a set of lights, at the fork use the left lanes to continue onto Boylston Street
At the next fork/set of lights turn slightly right on to Fenway, continue for about 0.2 miles and use the right only lane to turn right onto Hemingway Street
Continue on Hemingway Street for about 0.3 miles. At the Second stop sign Hemingway Street ends , you will see the side of the MFA in front of you, turn left here onto Forsyth Way.
Go straight at the lights, to continue onto Parker Street and continue straight for about 1/2 mile
At the second set of lights take a left onto Tremont Street
Immediately after turning onto Tremont Street take the first right at the lights onto Terrace Street
Continue for about 0.3 miles Diablo is a red building about 4 blocks down on the right after the stop sign.



From South

Take I93 North towards Boston
Take exit 18 towards Mass Ave/Roxbury

Take I90 East towards Boston
Take exit 22 towards the Prudential/Copley
Keep left at the fork and follow signs for the Prudential Center and merge on to Huntington Avenue
Stay on Huntington Ave for about 3/4 of a mile
In front of North Eastern University use the left lane to turn left onto Parker Street and continue straight for about 1/4 mile
At the second set of lights take a left onto Tremont Street
Immediately after turning onto Tremont Street take the first right at the lights onto Terrace Street
Continue for about 0.3 miles Diablo is a red building about 4 blocks down on the right after the stop sign.

  • All work will be fired or annealed overnight and will not be ready to take home on the same day of your class. If you are not able to pick up your pieces within two weeks then shipping can be arranged.

  • Glassblowers: To work safely in the Hot Shop you must wear closed-toed sneakers or shoes. Please do not wear sandals, flip flops, heels or short clothing. Only cotton clothing is allowed. Remember, polyester melts and that's no fun!

  • Flameworkers and Flatshop: Wear comfortable cotton clothing.

  • Bring a water bottle.

  • Diablo does not serve food, so please feel free to bring lunch or dinner if your class runs at a time when you normally eat.
