Check out this summer's Play in the Park inspirations and materials!

Play, experiment, and engineer together in the Sculpture Park! Collaborate to construct large-scale temporary structures in response to deCordova's art and landscape. For families with children of all ages.

Wednesdays, June 11 and 25, July 9 and 23, August 6 and 20

June 11: Inspired by Orly Genger's monumental sculpture Red, Yellow and Blue, play with rope, string, and more to create linear constructions in the landscape.

June 25: Inspired by Dan Graham's Crazy Spheroid: Two Entrances, play with shimmering, translucent materials and build walls and enclosures in space.

July 9: Inspired by Jarrett Mellenbruch's sculptural beehives Haven, play with flat surfaces and construct 3-dimensional structures for insects, animals, or humans.

July 23: Inspired by DeWitt Godfrey's sculpture Lincoln, play with tubes, tires, and other round shapes to create curved constructions in the Park.

August 6: Inspired by Steven Siegel's towering newspaper sculpture Big, with rift, roll, stack, and tear paper into surprisingly strong sculptural structures.

August 20: Inspired by Ursula von Rydingsvard's sculpture ence pence, play with sorting sticks and building blocks to create layered wooden constructions.
