Massachusetts is on its way to becoming a significant “Hollywood East” hub for film, television, and commercial production and actors need to be ready for the roles that come up! This summer, join us as we teach you what you need to shine in that upcoming audition or role.

Through creative improvisation, movement exercises, and script work, students will develop the skills, self-confidence, and discipline needed for both stage and on-camera auditions. Teens will enhance their self-expression and observational skills, find out how to approach cold readings, learn about character development, script analysis, and performance vocabulary, practice their memorization skills, and develop the ability to work in ensembles. You will end the week more prepared to audition for professional film, television, commercial, and theater productions.

During the last class, students will have the chance to perform in a real audition setting, and receive critiques and advice for further improvement. The last session will also include a seminar on the business of acting, discussing the nitty-gritty of finding work, impressing casting directors, and developing great headshots and resumes. Parents are encouraged to attend!

This is a unique opportunity to work with two of Boston Casting’s best teachers, Kate Kelly and Jennifer Salvucci, in one class! They will be working together to offer their students more personalized attention…and twice the fun!

Kate Kelly is a member of the Screen Actors Guild and Actors Equity Association. She has been an actor and teacher in the Boston area for over fifteen years. She holds an MA in Theatre Education from Emerson College.

Jennifer Salvucci is a member of the Screen Actors Guild and has been a professional actress and children’s acting coach in the Los Angeles area for six years prior to returning to the Boston area. She holds a BFA in Theater Performance from Chapman University.
