All artwork will be yours to take home at the end of each session. Children will be taught traditional technical skills but will also be encouraged to work on original creations and will be given freedon to use their imaginations for innovation and creative problem-solving.
The Vacation Arts Program is a non-competititve environment that encourages each young artist to develop their itnerests, grown in their own personal style, and work with other as they explore the world of art. Several times a week, children will also have an opportunity to try various movement and performance areas such as drama, percussion, and dance.
Each Friday the groups will attend a field trip. Past field trips have included: the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston Center for the Arts, Historic New England, the Institute of Contemporary Art, and the Boston Harbor Islands. There is no additional cost of participating in field trips and a picnic lunch is included.
Children must be between the ages of 4.5 and 10 years old. The program is designed to provide a nurturing environment for artistic expression and creativity for children who are interested in the arts. This program is not a good fit for children who are not interested in the arts.
