Brian Scalabrine says, “It’s time for me to give back....Now is the time for me to help the young kids learn the fundamentals of the game.”
LINX Camps and LX Sports Camps are excited to announce that Brian Scalabrine, former Boston Celtics player, signed an agreement to serve as the lead coach and figurehead for the LX Basketball Camps being offered at their Dana Hall Campus in Wellesley, MA starting in July 2013.
LX Basketball Camps featuring Brian Scalabrine will be housed in the 93,000 square foot, state-of-the-art athletic center that features two NCAA regulation-sized basketball courts at Dana Hall.
In recent years, LINX Camps has grown with the community and therefore, to meet demands, it is introducing the LX Camps experience.
The LX Camps approach will continue to include character building experiences and anti-bullying approach but will be more focused for the camper that knows his/her true passion.
LX Sports Camps are intense sports development programs for children entering 4th through 10th grade.
Campers go through an assessment period on their first day and are divided into skill specific groups.
LX Sports Campers receive 4-5 periods a day reserved for skill training and tournaments.
Campers receive a Report Card assessing their development and areas to focus on while they go forward within their sport.
Campers looking for a more traditional camp experience with a sports focus can sign up for LINX Sports Camps in which they will receive daily free swim and lessons and bonus activity periods.

LX Sports Camps is a Division of LINX Camps, one of the fastest growing camps in New England.

I met Scalabrine 4 years ago when his wife and child came to LINX for Mommy and Me classes,” shared Josh Schiering, Executive Director of LINX Camps.
“I was struck by his down-to-earth demeanor.
Throughout the years, Scalabrine has made several appearances within our camps and has always interacted with the campers like a pro.
He’s exactly the type of coach we hire at LX Sports Camps.” Scalabrine will be on-site coaching for a minimum of two days per week for the six weeks that the camp will operate out of the Dana Hall Campus in Wellesley in July and August.
Josh Schiering goes on to say, “Having Scalabrine on-site to lead the rest of the basketball coaching staff throughout the summer and interact with the campers will be a once in a lifetime experience for our campers.
Scalabrine will bring his NBA experiences, warm-ups, drills and skills to practice and this will make a fundamental difference in what our campers get to take away from their basketball camp experience.”

Growing up, I went to all types of basketball camps so many people helped me out, and I got to the level I did because of those people.
Now is the time for me to help the young kids learn the fundamentals of the game.”
Schiering says, “Scalabrine insisted that he get to have fun with the campers on and off the court.
Scalabrine will work with all the campers in fun and engaging ways and will become an integral part of our team.
