Paste paper is one of the earliest forms decorative paper and dates back to the 16th century when it was made by book binders in Europe for use as end papers, (inside the covers of books) and book covers. The process has changed little and remains simple, yet complex intricate, patterns can result.

Beautiful designs and patterns are made simply by dragging a variety of tools, such as combs and brushes, through the colored paste, no drawing or painting experience is necessary. This workshop will cover the basics and traditional techniques of making paste and decorative paste paper. Come prepared to have fun and make lots of paper. Paste paper is messy so please where old clothes.
