Cadets can train on board Coast Guard equipment, and can train in over 25 areas including aviation, law enforcement, scuba diving, sailing, seamanship, and can even attend a challenging two week training with the US Navy SEALS.
According to Lt. j.g Matthew Landry, the commander of the new unit, 'Cadets get a sneak preview of their life to come while instilling in them a firm foundation of values, respect, and good citizenship.'
