League will meet once a month. It is an opportunity for all ages to play the Pokemon game. If you don’t know how to play, we will teach you and we will teach you how build a deck to battle. There will be prizes and more. For more info e-mail: Liz Bowman at izbowman@netscape.net .

Liz gives an expanded explanation of the League below:
Pokemon League is a independently informally run club for all ages (my currently set up Leagues in Arlington and Quincy are free of charge- some other Leagues generally charge registration and session fees to cover costs of supplies & materials) - anyone can join - we try to put the club in a convenient central venue so parents do not have to spend a lot of time driving their kids around and can feel comfortable with the whole setup and let their children have fun.

The kids/ players are given a membership ID if they have never joined before (if they have attended a previous Pokemon event/tournament- they are given ID# then- they use this number to identify themselves and Pokemon USA tracks these numbers if the members sign up for a special MyPokemon account- they get free stuff in the mail) and can learn to play Pokemon Trading Card game with the other members, get free cards and earn badges/pins- what they need is a 60 Pokemon card deck (we look at their decks and show the ways to improve it).

I do not run sanctioned tournaments nor do special Pokemon prerelease events (that is a separate Pokemon activity, however, I have been letting people /members know about these tournaments ahead of schedule if they want to experience a different level of play). The club is mostly about fun play with Pokemon cards- learning new strategies and building better decks.
