Join us for a visit and journal-making course on Saturday, January 12, 2008 at the Attleboro Arts Museum. Continually changing exhibitions, featuring both amateur and professional artists, are prominently displayed in 3,500 square feet of gallery space. Visit the museum at www.attleboroartsmuseum.org for more information.

The program will include a tour of the museum’s Ottmar Gallery plus a two-hour journal-making course facilitated by a museum school instructor. Using poetry, the instructor will get you to think creatively in designing a personal sketching journal. Using various materials, which will be provided, you will use words and/or drawings to record your inner expressions. Be prepared to experiment and have fun!

We will depart from the Sharon Heights Shopping Plaza (please make special note of this departure and return location!) at 10:00 AM for travel via bus to Attleboro. The return from Attleboro is scheduled for about 1:15 PM — arrival at the Sharon Heights Shopping Plaza is scheduled for approximately 1:45 or 2:00 PM. Please note that this program is for adults only, and is limited to 12 participants.

Participants will be charged for transportation and the tour only. Funding for the journal-making program, including materials – a $45/person value – will be provided by the Friends of the Sharon Public Library using funds designated for adult programming. Fee for Friends’ members is $12.00 with a non-member fee of $14.00.

Please make your check payable to Friends of the Sharon Public Library and send it (no cash) with your name, address and phone number to Mary Lou Kirkpatrick, 41 Apple Valley Drive, Sharon, MA 02067 and will be on a first-come, first-served basis for the first 12 received. Call with questions or for information 781-784-8463 or e-mail mlk9k@aol.com.
