Great for children, Capoeira is a skillful movement game in which two opponents compete playfully with one another with acrobatics and dance-like moves. The class will begin with a basic warm-up, and will be followed by an introduction to various capoeira moves employed in the game.

Students will receive a workout of the mind and the body, as experienced capoeirista Instrutora Sereia guides them to explore their capacity of movement, balance, coordination, and flexibility, while building their self-confidence and control. Instrutora Sereia is the director of ABADA Capoeira-Boston, and studied under one of the highest ranked female capoeiristas in the world, Marcia Treidler.

Capoeira will be played with no shoes. Children are encouraged to wear comfortable workout clothing.
