What is Shabbat all about? How can a novice guide a family’s celebration? We’ll provide the basics and much more in an interactive, fun setting. This series combines discussion and study with an introduction to traditional Shabbat foods, practices and melodies. Issues unique to interfaith families will be included

February 23, 2010 - A comprehensive introduction to what Shabbat is all about and why it is such a central aspect of Jewish life.
Location: JCC, 333 Nahanton St., Newton, MA, 7:00-8:30pm

March 2, 2010 –Bake challah, learn rituals and traditions and sing some Shabbat melodies. Consider how different families might adopt Shabbat in their own ways.
Location: JFCS, 1430 Main St., Waltham, MA, 7:00-9:00 pm

March 5, 2010 - Optional Tot Shabbat service followed by family dinner. Details TBA

Open to singles, couples, parents and grandparents of Jewish children
