Originally developed in Asia, origami has evolved into an exciting art form, explored by artists worldwide. Works in this intimately scaled exhibition in the museum's Art and Nature Center demonstrate the remarkable breadth of origami art, ranging from depictions of nature to self-portraits and abstract forms.
In addition to showing masterworks of origami, the exhibition reveals connections between origami and innovations in other disciplines, such as design, medicine and math. Interactive displays give visitors of all ages opportunities to engage in the artistic process of origami.

Fun & different, Sun 18 Nov 2007
We went with three little girls 6, 7 and 8), and they loved doing the oragami. There was a table with an adult demonstrating one project, then a bunch of screens with video demonstrations that you could pause or replay. Kids also enjoyed two art projects in the studios. Very pleasant afternoon. The store also has exquisite (and breakable) gifts -- did NOT take the children in there. Plenty of food options nearby -- we like Engine House pizza the best. Good and kid-friendly.
