These heritage breeds, some indigenous and some brought to North American by the Early Settlers, are now struggling due to the commercialization of farming and overall reduction in number of farming households.
Berlin Farms is working to conserve historic breeds and genetic diversity in livestock, helping to bring breeds off the endangered list to the recovering list through grass-roots efforts. Note bene: Berlin Farms is a for-profit business and not a charity.
Please help Berlin Farms in this important work which has been featured on CNN and National Public Radio. We are very grateful for your help in preserving our agricultural heritage and investing in the future of Berlin Farms. We are looking for people interested in volunteer opportunities.
During our Fall Festival, we offer a wide variety of activities for you and your family. Whether they are riding around on one of our adorable ponies, or bouncing around in our bouncy palace, your kids will enjoy every moment on the farm! We will also be serving up our famous Cider Donuts, along with delicious Richardson's ice cream. Our farmstand will be re-opening the first week in September, so get ready to shop! We are already canning many new jams, jellies, and our delicious home-made pickles.
