Schedule of Events
River Ceremony, 10-10:45am
Singing, drumming, and the launching of Earth Floats at the water’s edge.
Come early -- 9:30am -- to make Earth Floats.
The Old Manse back lawn, by the river’s edge.
Earth Day Parade, 11am-noon
Giant puppets, stilters, dancers, music, costumes, banners, community groups, families, and friends parade down Monument and Main Streets. Come early to watch the parade set up!
Old Manse to The Umbrella Community Arts Center
Arts & Environment Festival, 12:00 to 2:00 pm
Music, local food, kids and community activities, and table exhibitors

Call for Art: April Earth Month Exhibit, April 2 – April 30, 2015
Opening and Artists’ Reception Thursday, April 2, 6pm
Monday, March 30 drop off art between 3-6:00pm
Friday, May 1 pick up art between 3-6pm
Artists of all ages and experience are invited to participate in the Musketaquid Earth Month Exhibit, a non-juried show that will run in The Umbrella Community Arts Center Gallery from April 2 through May 1, 2015. This year’s theme, 'Celebrating the Confluence of Art and Nature' invites us to seek out the colors, patterns and textures that reflect where the art of nature and the nature of art intersect and reveal the connection to your home place. Adopt-A-Puppet to carry in the Parade
Visit our website to peruse our collection of giant puppets to reserve and carry in the parade. Made by artists and community members and groups, these beautiful puppets offer individuals and groups a fun opportunity to celebrate our local plant and animal species! To reserve, click here.
Parade and Earth Float Making Workshops at The Umbrella
Stop by to make a costume, headdress, puppets, and/or floating tributes to the Earth for the Earth Day Celebration! $5 per person/$10 per family, pay at the door

National Earth Day Sunrise Gathering, Thursday, April 22 5:30am
Lowell Road Boat Landing
Greet the day at the river’s edge, across from Egg Rock, to recognize the 45th National Earth Day. Launch some Earth Floats, read some poetry, and connect with the early morning birdsongs, river light, and friends.
