Quincy August Moon Festival
The festival will open at 11AM with a Lion Dance ceremony. The festival is a community event filled with vendors, food trucks, games, and activities for children, and performances throughout the day.
There will be traditional and modern Asian music and dance performances as well as a children's area with games and crafts. Local restaurants will also serve various types of Asian and American cuisine. Come join us for a day of fun!
Festival highlights include: a sampling of traditional moon cakes; food vendors; exhibitors representing various countries; cultural performances on the main stage; activities for children; and entertainment for elders.
August Moon is the second biggest holiday in China and is also celebrated in other Asian countries such as Vietnam, Korea, Malaysia, and Singapore. The celebration of this event in Quincy will help the community learn about Asian cultures and will give many countries (Asian and non-Asian) a chance to share their culture with the community.
The festival is a free event presented by Quincy Asian Resources, Inc. (QARI), and will take place from approximately 1400 to 1600 Hancock Street, a short walk from the Quincy Center MBTA station and close to free public parking.
