This month, HI-Boston will be showing Osama, a unique look back at the challenges of life under the Taliban regime in the 1990s.

The film is told through the perspectives of three women from three different generations, all part of a single family.

Each woman has lost the respective males in their lives due to the various wars that have plagued Afghanistan.

Since none of the older women can work and have no other source of income, they are forced to have their pre-teen daughter masquerade as a boy.

The story gets difficult when the Taliban recruit all of the boys for military training.

HI-Boston will provide handouts with additional background about the Taliban regime, interesting facts and discussion questions for those that attend.

See you there!
