Grammy award-winning artist John Legend will perform at One Family Inc’s annual Mothers of Inspiration gala. The organization is instituting a new awards element to the event: Legends Among Us. Legends Among Us honors heroes, known and emerging, who lift us up and open the door to life's possibilities, therein changing lives and transforming society. Proceeds from the event will support the organization’s flagship program,

One Family Scholars, which provides scholarships coupled with career development and leadership training for homeless, formerly homeless and at-risk mothers to attend college. One Family will present the first Legends Among Us awards to One Family co-founders Sister Margaret Leonard, Executive Director of Project Hope (Roxbury/Dorchester), and Nancy Schwoyer, Executive Director of Wellspring House (Gloucester). The Red Sox Foundation will also receive Legends Among Us honors for its contributions to improving the lives of children and families in need. Meg Vaillancourt, Senior Vice President/Corporate Relations and Executive Director of the Red Sox Foundation, will accept on behalf of the Red Sox Foundation.

Tickets are on sale now. $195, General Reception and Dinner; $250, VIP Event ticket plus VIP Reception with John Legend. John Legend will perform at the dinner.
