The Gallery at Dunia Presents 'Darsana: Transcending Light'
Maynard Artist Gail Erwin Combines Proto-Photographic and Print Techniques
The Gallery at Dunia presents 'Darsana: Transcending Light,'an exhibit of limited-edition prints by Maynard-based artist Gail Erwin. Erwin applies monoprint and other techniques, some - such as cyanotype, Van Dyke Brown, and solvent transfer - from the dawn of photography, to create richly layered and tactile images. 'Darsana: Transcending Light' runs from April 29 through June19.
A reception will be held for the artist on Sunday, May 18, from 2 to 5 PM; attendance is free and open to the public. Twenty percent of the proceeds from the sale of Erwin's art will benefit the New England Wildflower Society (www.newenglandwild.org), America's oldest plant conservation organization, dedicated to protecting our natural habitats and native plants.
Dunia is located at 43 Nason Street in downtown Maynard. Gail Erwin's 'Darsana: Transcending Light' art will be available for viewing during store hours, Monday through Saturday from 10 AM to 6 PM, except for Thursday, when the store stays open until 8 PM.
