Make running a family event. Come out for a 1k kids fun run and 5k walk/run! Give kids a flavor for road races. Includes post-race face painting, balloon designing and more.

The race starts and finishes on the Boston College Campus in the shadows of Doug Flutie's Heisman Trophy in front of the Yawkey Athletic Building.

Kids 1K course is contained to that area while the 5k course runs from the BC lower campus down the Boston Marathon's famed Heartbreak Hill, loops through one of Newton's exclusive neighborhoods, and then returns to lower campus.

Activities and refreshments follow the race to make it a great family event.

5-starBC Race to Educate
This is a great event for the whole family. The kids have so much fun running the race, and taking on an active role in supporting a wonderful cause. They also love to watch their parents running the 5K. This year runners will be able to cross the finish line inside the BC football stadium and see themselves on the jumbo tron. My boys are anxious to see this! After the race there is food, music, meeting many BC athletes, and fun activities for the kids. Last year there were bounce houses, face painting, etc. It's a great way to spend an afternoon doing something active with the whole family!
5-starBC Race to Educate is the best
The BC Race to Educate was a blast last year. Watching the kids get read for the race and run it was a real treat. They were all so proud of themselves when they finished! Afterwards there were plenty of activities to keep them entertained so parents could split up and run or walk themselves or linger to make it a fun morning event.
