Gore Place, the historic Governor Gore estate and museum in Waltham, Massachusetts, is now offering heirloom flower bulbs for sale. These rare and hard to find flowering bulbs have been selected for their beauty, hardiness, and unique qualities. Many date back to the mid 1800s and some as early as circa 1750. Varieties include Tulipa biflora (circa 1775), the multi-floral tulip Candy Club, Allium triquentrum (circa 1790), the miniature species Narcissus jonquilla simplex (circa 1750), and many more.

Photos and descriptions can be found on-line at the museum’s website at: www.goreplace.org/bulb-sale.htm. An order form can be printed out and mailed-in with payment by check or credit card (no cash, please). Orders may also be made via phone using all major credit cards by calling (781) 894-2798. Orders must be placed by September 1. Bulbs will be available for pick-up starting October 4. Quantities are limited. For more information, call: (781) 894-2798.

Gore Place has a long agricultural tradition. In the early 1800s, Governor Gore cultivated over 400 acres sending crops to Quincy Market twice a week in season. He also cultivated pear trees and developed the prize winning Heathcott Pear.
