Come experience the history of Christmas traditions at Old Sturbridge Village. Relish old traditions and create new ones as we highlight homemade Christmas decor.

This year, the activities will all take place outdoors, including carols, sleigh rides, traditional treats, and more.

See demonstrations of classic Christmas projects like knitting stockings, wreath making, and making natural ornaments. Watch as we make a traditional Christmas meal, punch tin lanterns, make ice skates or a sled, and other special projects.

You’ll enjoy strolling from the Common to the Countryside as you enjoy our festive, outdoor decorations, Christmas Tree Trail, and Christmas Wish Bridge.

And Christmas by Candlelight wouldn’t be complete without a horse-drawn carryall ride and warming up by the bonfires. We hope your family will join ours, as we celebrate a very special Christmas.

Dress for the weather, and come enjoy on weekend evenings through December at New England's largest living history museum. December 4-6, 11-13, 18-20, 23 & 27-30, 2020.

Christmas by Candlelight at Old Sturbridge Village is an evening filled with New England holiday traditions, live musical performances, storytelling, sleigh rides, festive foods, a roaring bonfire, and strolls around the decorated Village Common.

This year, stroll the all-new Christmas Tree Trail! Take a few moments away from the hustle and bustle of the activities surrounding the common to reflect on the holiday season. Out on the trail, you’ll enjoy a roaring bonfire, cocoa and cookies, music, and of course, 50 sparkling trees.

At the end of the trail, write a special Christmas Wish at our Christmas Wish Bridge! You will make heart-warming holiday memories with your friends and family.

Open 3:00pm - 8:00pm; (The Village will open for Christmas by Candlelight at 1:00 pm on select nights (see details below); Guests must purchase tickets for specific arrival times - see below for details.

Members get first access, best selection, and can purchase tickets at the discounted rate of $20 for adults and $10 for youth (4-17) through December 16; Tickets go on sale to the public on November 17 at the rate of $22 for Adults and $11 for Youth (Ages 4-17; Children under 4 are admitted for free)
