Skating School 2007 - 2008
Kendall Square Community Ice Skating offers a program for those who want to learn or improve their skating while having fun. Our instructors teach based on the Ice Skating Institute weSKATE Lesson Program and are handpicked for their ability to work with the lesson's age group. If you or your child has never skated before, or if you'd just like to feel more comfortable on the ice, the Kendall Square Community Ice Skating School is the one for you!
Learn to Skate
Our Learn to Skate program is designed for those who have never skated or who have never had formal lessons. We begin with how to get up and fall down on skates, then progress to the fundamentals of skating, stressing balance, glide, and proper form on the ice.
All classes meet once a week for five weeks.
Offered in two sessions: SESSION 1 (Dec. 30-Feb. 2) or SESSION 2 (Feb. 3-Mar. 15, no classes Feb. 17-23).
Price includes admission, instruction, and skate rental on your class days.
Kinder age 3 - 5, $80; Child age 6 - 10, $90; Adult; age 11 & up, $90); Basic Skills age 11 & up, $90.
Teh Basic Skills program, for children ages 6-10, is designed for those who wish to improve their skills and progress toward figure skating. Students should already be able to skate and glide without falling, and do a snowplow stop. Skaters concentrate on proper stroking, solid edging, crossovers, backward skating, and beginning jumps.
