IMAX: Hurricane on the Bayou
You are Viewing a Past EventIf this is a recurring event that will be happening again this year, please let us know.

This large-format film takes viewers to one of the most vibrant places in America: the Louisiana bayou and the city of New Orleans—a region overflowing with life, love, music, history, and heartbreaking natural beauty.
Tragically, the delta's bountiful coastal wetlands are eroding into the sea at the speed of one acre every 30 minutes, leaving the entire area ever more vulnerable to major hurricanes. Treated with the same care and sensitivity MacGillivray Freeman brought to the tragic story of Everest, footage shot both before and after Hurricane Katrina poignantly documents both an environmental calamity and the staggering effects of one of the most devastating natural disasters in American history.
