K'NEX: The Science of Building Thrill RidesExplore the science and engineering that goes into creating a pulse-pounding theme park experience when you check out the exhibit's astounding amusement park models, including several six-foot Ferris wheels and a ten-foot roller coaster. Then, get started on building your own twisting, looping thrill ride with a bounty of colorful rods and connectors.

Visitors age five and older can build a free takeaway windmill (download a how-to preview below), or create a more ambitious thrill ride and stop at the 'Weigh and Pay' station to take it home.

Be sure to allow plenty of time to build your creations, especially during busy school and holiday vacation weeks, or before any ticketed events you may be attending at the Museum.

Be prepared to buy
Of course it's fun to make something from the zillion bits o K'NEX stuff in this exhibit. But try telling your kid you don't want to the pay for his/her creation at the cashier strategically placed near the exit. It seemed like a trap.
