We know the importance of being smart and safe when it comes to children.
In order to pass on that information and create successful and knowledgeable babysitters in our community, the museum is hosting a class that teaches students who are in sixth grade and higher all they need to know about the exciting world of babysitting.
This class will be taking place on December 8th 2016 from 12:30-4pm and will be taught by one of our Museum educators.
During this class students learn all they need to know about caring for children.
Topics include: diapering techniques, safety and accident prevention, basic first aid, and how to handle emergencies.
Students will also be shown great ideas for healthy snacks, and age appropriate activities to play with children!
Although we will not be eating lunch, we will have time for a small snack so please plan accordingly.
The museum still hears back from students who have taken the course in the past about the positive effects that this class had on their babysitting experiences.
One former student, now 22 years old, still references the special snacks that she learned to make when she took the museum’s babysitter training class 10 years ago.
“Whenever I am working with children or watching my younger cousins and I run out of things to do with them, monster toast always comes to the front of my mind”.
The class is being held on an early release day for Easton Public Schools.
Participants must be in 6th grade or higher.
This workshop is $50 per student.
Pre-registration and advanced payment is required due to the limited amount of space in the class.
