Internationally renowned designers present their recent work on landscape as a medium of design for the social, cultural, and ecological life of the city.

As a part of the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum’s Landscape Lectures Series, join Margie Ruddick, internationally renowned architect, on February 11 at 7 p.m. as she discusses her work.

Over the last 25 years, Ruddick has gained recognition for her pioneering, environmental approach to landscape design.

Ruddick’s completed international projects include the Shillim Institute and Retreat in the Western Ghats of India and the Living Water Park, with artist Betsy Damon, in Chengdu, China.

In the U.S., she is known for transforming the Queens Plaza in New York City, a design which has won many awards for promoting ideas of nature in the city.

The event will take place in the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum’s Calderwood Hall, located at 25 Evans Way, Boston, Mass.

Admission requires a ticket and is $15 for adults, $12 for seniors, $5 for students with valid ID, and free for members.

Lectures include Museum admission.

All lectures begin at 7 p.m. in Calderwood Hall located at 25 Evans Way, Boston MA 02115.

The 2015-2016 Landscape Lecture series is sponsored by an anonymous donor, in honor of Orlando (Ollie) Capizzi, renowned builder of Boston area landscapes for over 50 years.

This program also receives support from the Massachusetts Cultural Council, which receives support from the State of Massachusetts and the National Endowment for the Art

The Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum - a work of art in totality - is a highly personal installation of Isabella Gardner’s collection, intended to fire the imagination of all who visit.

Modeled after a Venetian palazzo, the galleries surround a verdant Courtyard and are home to masters such as Rembrandt, Raphael, Titian, Michelangelo, Whistler, and Sargent.

The new Renzo Piano-designed wing provides an innovative venue for contemporary artists, musicians, and scholars.
