Joe’s Backyard Band plays a mix of original and familiar music for all ages. It’s a rootsy dance party where “Mystery Train” meets “All Around The Kitchen,” Bob Marley meets Bob Dylan, and new songs fit right in. Based near Providence, the band has played festivals, lawn concerts, nightclubs, school yards, the Providence Children’s Museum, a record store, a yacht club, the occasional multi-purpose room and once in a while an actual back yard. “Kick Up A Breeze” is the band’s debut CD, with 14 original songs, featuring a festive mix of guitars and drums, harmonicas and saxophones, flutes and mandolins, and some birds.
