About Jamie Kent
Singer-songwriter — and Babson alumnus (’08) — Jamie Kent cultivates a sound with a strong folk rock and Americana influence.

Drawing on influences from modern artists like Ray Lamontagne and Amos Lee as well as paying tribute to classic greats like Bruce Springsteen and Tom Petty, Jamie’s perfectly mellifluous tunes are roll-the-windows-down, soak-up-some-sun kind of good.

Since the release of his debut LP in 2011, Jamie has been collaborating with his band, Jamie Kent & The Options.

He plays more than 200 shows a year, including tours with Huey Lewis & The News, The Wood Brothers, Marc Broussard, Ellis Paul, and multiple showcases at the South By Southwest Music Festival.

Jamie is supported by The Collective, an amazing grassroots group of fans who help advise and fund his career in exchange for access to exclusive music, merchandise, and the right to vote in the major decisions he makes.

In addition to live appearances, he has received international radio play on over 120 stations (including BBC Radio), had his single Changes named the #5 song of 2012 by 93.9 The River, and signed licensing agreements with MTV, Bravo, and The Discovery Network.

In October 2012 he was accepted into ASCAP’s 2012 Lester Sill Songwriting Workshop where he spent a month working with some of the best songwriters in the business, creating material for his upcoming album.

The new EP, titled Embers & Ashes, features five songs that showcase a deeper sense of confidence as a songwriter, and as a singer.

It's first single, Broke, Not Broken was recently premiered on RollingStone.com.
