Enjoy the free outdoor jazz concert series at the Hopkinton Center for the Arts. There are different artists featured every week - check description below for more details.

July 2: The JazzQ Group kicks off the Sunset Jazz Concert Series at the HCA.
“The JazzQ” Jazz Funk, Blues and More.

Mike Caruso (Guitar, keys), Lorrie Kubicek (vocals), Kimberly Khare (guitar and vocals), Richard Hale Shaw (bass), and David Mann (drums).

July 9: Kaoruko is originally from Tokyo, Japan.

She grew up listening to and singing American pop and jazz and started her career as a singer/piano player in Tokyo.

She was a student at Berklee College of Music, where she is currently on the faculty in the Voice Department.

Residing in Ashland, MA, she performs at numerous venues in the New England and in the New York area.

Her music is based on the Great American Songbook and Brazilian repertoire with some twists.

She has released 2 self-produced CDs, Joy Spring (2000) and Bright Side of My Life (2014).

Both are available at iTunes, CD Baby, and Amazon.

July 16: Led by vibraphonist and Hopkinton native Tom Phelan, the MWJP plays an exciting blend of post-bebop acoustic contemporary jazz.

Our repertoire includes originals from our CD “Phrygid Aire” and unique arrangements of standards with styles ranging from bebop and hard bop to Brazilian and Latin jazz.

Band members in addition to Tom include Doug Sondak on reeds, Greg Maniero on bass, and Bruce Hanahan on drums.

July 23: The Michael P.

Chasse Group has been thrilling audiences for decade with it’s eclectic mix of driving jazz, haunting melodies, spontaneous counterpoint and guitaristic acrobatics.

The group draws personnel from the pool of seasoned charismatic players from the New England area, and repertoire from the ballads of yore to tomorrow’s hits.

July 30: The Nate Aronow Nextet presents an energetic and varied show of innovative original and cover Jazz, Latin, R&B and funky grooves, including hits from Nate’s latest CD “Xpression”.

Led by Nate on keys, the band features some of Boston’s hottest cool players: Doug Sondak – Alto Sax and Flute, Craig Hlady – guitar, Dave McQ – bass, and Brendan Byrnes – drums.

August 6: Stoney’s Wicked Din is a 10-piece band led by drummer Al Stone, and featuring vocalist Steve Faria.

They play an eclectic mix of jazz, swing, soul, blues, latin, R&B, and much more.
