During his time with the Boston Symphony Orchestra, composer Julian Anderson will also work on a few of his chamber works across the street with NEC students, as well as members of the Callithumpian Consort.

These pieces will be performed tonight, along with Beat Furrer's psychological masterpiece 'Lotófagos.'

Prior to this concert, on January 26, Julian Anderson will speak about his influences and works in the co-presented event, 'Do You Hear What I Hear.' The event takes place in Williams Hall starting at 6pm.

Led by Stephen Drury of the NEC faculty, Callithumpian Consort is a loose aggregation of NEC students, alumni, and new music enthusiasts that performs locally, on the East Coast, and in Europe.

Throughout the year, the group visits NEC with performances of contemporary avant-garde music.
