Somerville IFED (International Family Equality Day)

LGBTQ families and their supporters in Somerville, Massachusetts and around the world will be participating in the 6th annual International Family Equality Day celebration. IFED was launched in 2012 as a sign of solidarity and pride to support equality for all families.

In 2016, IFED was commemorated in 74 towns and 36 countries worldwide. 2017 will be the third time the event is held in Somerville. The motto for IFED 2017 is ‘LOVE MAKES A FAMILY’. IFED celebrates all the different kinds of families with the goal of increasing the international visibility of LGBTQ families.

Event is held annually in Davis Square, Somerville, MA.

By celebrating International Family Equality Day, The Rainbow Initiative, Family Equality Council and our partners across the globe raise awareness among politicians and the general public about the need for equal treatment and recognition for all families, regardless of the sexual orientation or gender identity of their family’s members.
