This October, Gore Place will offer special Take-a-Walk backpacks to celebrate Massachusetts Archaeology Month.
Using the contents of the backpacks, children will learn to think like an archeologist as they dig their way through the archaeological process.
Each backpack contains an activity booklet, digging tools, a magnifying glass, and binoculars.
Do a field survey of a designated site and look for unusual objects!
Dig in a mock excavation pit and analyze an artifact!
Report your discoveries and piece together an interesting anecdote about Christopher and Rebecca Gore!
Available Monday through Friday from 10:00am to 3:00pm and Saturday from 12:00pm to 3:00pm. Just ring the bell at the Mansion to get your backpack and begin your fall adventure.
Group arrangements may be made for school groups, pre-schools, home-schools, and day-care providers. To reserve your backpack and for group arrangements, call: (781) 894-2798.
