First Time Camper Program at Wompatuck State Park

Members of the Student Conservation Association will be on hand to assist first time campers with setting up their tents, starting a campfire, cooking demonstrations and other basic camping tips.

On Saturday night, there will be a campfire program at the amphitheater.

In addition, there will be interpretive programming and a guided hike.

Families will have an opportunity to spend the day Sunday exploring the park on self-guided activities or explore other DCR properties ( parking fees may apply).

From the South and Cape Cod:

Rte. 3 North to Exit 14 and the intersection with Rte. 228. Follow Rte. 228 North about 5 miles to Free Street on the right. Turn right onto Free Street one mile to the park entrance on the right. The camping area is 1.5 miles into the park on the right.

From the Norht and Boston:

Follow Rte. 3 South to Exit 14 and the intersection with Rte. 228. Follow Rte. 228 North about 5 miles to the intersection with Free Street on the right. Turn right onto Free Street and follow it one mile to the park entrance on the right. The camping area is 1.5 miles into the park on the right.
