A Wild Affair is a “tasting” event that will feature stations hosted by local restaurants and caterers - as well as live entertainment, a silent auction and an opportunity to stroll among the animals. Last year’s sold-out event attracted more than 600 people from local towns including Stoneham, Burlington, Lexington, Malden, Medford, Melrose, Reading, Saugus, Wakefield, Winchester and Woburn - and this year promises to be even bigger!
A Wild Affair 2008 will celebrate the spring opening of Stone Zoo’s new black bear exhibit, an important step in the long-term revitalization plan for this cherished institution. Zoo New England’s Stone Zoo has been a beloved part of the community for more than a century, and its animal exhibits have delighted, educated and enlightened millions of visitors. Proceeds from A Wild Affair will support not only the new black bear exhibit, but also the operation and continued growth of Stone Zoo, its education programs and conservation initiatives.
