This Fourth of July, step back to a time when America was new, and veterans of the fight for freedom still lived. Enjoy music, dancing, puppetry, crafts, and much more.

Spend your Fourth at Old Sturbridge Village on Independence Day and immerse yourself in a time and place when many townsfolk still vividly remembered the American Revolution, revered the Declaration of Independence, relished a well-deserved day off from farm work, and enjoyed a great party.

Listen to a dramatic reading of the Declaration of Independence on the Common, and step up to add your own 'John Hancock' to an oversized reproduction of the document.

Also, learn to march with the militia, enjoy fife and drum music, and join a citizens' procession.

If you're planning to spend the day then stick around for the fireworks, get your tickets now. The Village closes at 5 p.m. and re-opens at 6 p.m. for holiday festivities on the Common and a spectacular fireworks display at dusk. Admission for the fireworks is separate from daytime admission.
