About Weir River Farm
This family-friendly farm, one of the last on the South Shore, will enthrall visitors with its own “family” of horses and cows, chickens and sheep.

Originally part of a picturesque, early-20th-century country estate, Weir River Farm today is a 10-acre working farm comprised of fields and pastures surrounded by oak and red cedar woodlands. The farm supports diverse wildlife habitats, including upland grasslands, which are in rapid decline in the Commonwealth. Weir River passes through the farm at its northwest edge.

LOCATION↑ top

Turkey Hill Lane, Hingham, MA, 02403 map
Phone: (781) 740-7233

Be wary of Mapquest's directons to the farm. Off the 228 you turn onto Leavitt Rd. at the Hingham library, and then look for signs to Weir River Farm, going up the hill.

TIPS↑ top

  • Park at the top of a long, slightly steep hill and walk down it through an open field and small forest to get to the farm. A stroller can be used on the trail, but get ready for a workout. You cannot see the farm from the parking lot, but follow the trail and you'll find it.

  • Pack a picnic lunch to enjoy just outside the farm gates after the storytime. A few picnic tables are available.
